Application of QSI Laser Diode in Infrared Sight {Longstar Technology}

We all know that infrared sights have become very widely used in daily life, so do you know what functions QSI laser diodes can be used on them?

The biggest difference between infrared sights and ordinary red and green laser sights is that people can't see them. It uses infrared laser, such as the common wavelengths of 850nm, 905nm and 940nm.

These rays are invisible to the naked eye, but they are a very clear light under the night vision device or infrared camera system. In other words, the infrared sight is mainly used with night vision equipment to provide an "invisible" aiming reference point for the operator in the dark.

This technology was first used in the military, and now it is gradually applied to hunting, security and even drone night vision systems.

What role does QSI laser diode play in it?

In fact, it is the core of infrared light source-the key component that determines brightness, stability and life.

QSI is very mature in infrared band, and their 905nm and 940nm series laser diodes are used in many high-precision aiming systems.

There are three main reasons:

Luminous stability: the infrared sight requires high beam stability during use. Any fluctuation or drift will lead to the deviation of the aiming point position. QSI's infrared LD chip output is very stable under constant power drive, and the temperature drift is small.

Clean facula and small divergence angle

This is very critical. Infrared sights do not pursue "brightness", but "accuracy". The light spot must be concentrated, and the smaller the divergence angle, the higher the aiming accuracy.

QSI's infrared diode adopts EEL (edge emission) structure, and the light-emitting surface is subjected to precise optical treatment, which can maintain good collimation characteristics at a long distance, which is especially important for the cooperation of night vision equipment.

Life and reliability

Infrared sights often work in a bad environment, with temperature difference, vibration and dust. QSI's packaging design is particularly stable in this respect, the chip is firmly soldered and the heat dissipation performance is good.
