We all know that red laser is widely used in daily life, like many physical therapies, they are basically unavoidable. Today, Xiaobian will tell you about the main applications of red laser.
The wavelength of red laser is about 630-680nm, which can be directly seen by naked eyes, and has moderate penetration, which is neither too strong nor easy to damage materials.
Laser pointing products, such as laser pens for meetings, indicators for teaching and stage positioning lights, are mostly red lasers. Red light has high brightness, good visibility in ordinary environment, relatively low cost and less demanding heat dissipation requirements.
Going in a more industrial direction, red laser is also the main force in ranging, positioning and marking. For example, the red reticle you see on the construction site and the red light on the building measuring instrument are actually red laser modules. Because of the short wavelength and small divergence angle of red light, the printed line is very clear, which is very convenient for plane marking or distance measurement. One of our customers is a woodworking cutting machine, which uses a red laser to align the cutting lines, and the masters can operate accurately by looking at the red line with their naked eyes.
In the medical field, red laser also has its place. Especially in physical therapy and biological detection, red light has certain biological activity, which can stimulate cell repair and promote blood circulation. Like laser physiotherapy instrument, skin beauty instrument and dental surgery positioning lamp, red laser of about 635nm is often used.
There is also an area that everyone easily ignores: optical communication and bar code recognition. The red laser module is the core component in barcode scanner, which is responsible for sending out the scanning line and then identifying the bar code information through the reflected signal. For example, supermarket checkout, warehousing and logistics, express sorting, almost all of these systems use red laser. Red light is widely used because of its high detection accuracy, reasonable price and low maintenance cost.
Of course, in scientific research and experimental equipment, red laser is often used as reference light source or calibration light. For example, optical experiments, interference testing, spectral analysis, etc., red laser has good stability and easy control of output wavelength, which is the standard of many optical instruments.
Generally speaking, red laser has become the most widely used laser in the market because of its mature technology, controllable cost and stable wavelength. From industry to medical treatment, from teaching to scientific research, from consumer electronics to automatic detection, it almost exists.
