EEL patch laser diode has the advantages of small volume, compact package, low heat generation and high efficiency. The most important thing is good beam quality and high power. To put it bluntly, it can make light bright and stable, and it can be easily integrated into various devices, which makes its application range particularly wide.
In the industrial field, EEL laser diode is almost "standard". For example, our common laser rangefinder, displacement sensor, contour detector, many of which use EEL structure. Because its luminous direction is concentrated, the light spot is clean, and it can form very fine light after being equipped with a lens, and the ranging accuracy can reach millimeter level or even higher.
Another example is laser communication. Nowadays, high-speed transmission is emphasized.
