We often see green laser in our daily lives, such as on highways, stage lighting, etc. Do you know the application scope of green laser diodes? What are the bands of green laser diodes? Let's take a look together below.
1、 Application range of green laser diode
Green light is located in the most sensitive wavelength range of the human eye in visible light (around 555nm), so its visual effect is very prominent, with a stronger sense of brightness than red and blue light. This is also an important reason why green light lasers are widely used. Common applications include:
1. Laser display
Laser projection, laser TV, AR/VR display module.
Green light is one of the three primary colors (RGB), and together with red and blue light, it forms a full-color display.
2. Laser indication and illumination
High end laser pens, laser levels, stage lighting, holographic imaging, etc.
Green light has strong penetration and remains clear at night or under strong light.
3. Medical and Biological Testing
Laser ophthalmic surgery, skin treatment (such as mole removal, spot removal, vascular treatment).
Green light is commonly used in biological fluorescence detection and flow cytometry because it can excite specific fluorescent dyes.
4. Industrial processing and measurement
Laser ranging, 3D scanning, laser radar.
Some precision materials, such as glass, ceramics, and some plastics, have high green light absorption and are more efficient for microfabrication.
5. Research and Security
As a light source, it is used in spectroscopic experiments and interferometric measurements.
Laser security alarm and laser lighting monitoring.
2、 The main wavelength range of green laser diodes
The wavelength of green laser diodes is mainly concentrated in the range of 515nm to 540nm, commonly including:
515nm: bluish green color, used for biological detection and display.
520nm: The most common commercial wavelength with high brightness, commonly used in display and indicator devices.
525nm-530nm: close to the most sensitive area of the human eye, with the best visual effect, commonly used in laser projection and laser pens.
532nm: Traditionally, it is a common wavelength for frequency doubled Nd: YAG lasers, but now some semiconductor laser diodes also cover it.
535nm – 540nm: Slightly yellowish green, some manufacturers use it to supplement color saturation or for special applications.
Application scope: display, indication, medical, biological detection, processing measurement, scientific research security.
Band: The mainstream is between 515-540nm, with 520nm, 525nm, and 532nm being the most common.
